A Fun and Important Way To Help

There really aren't as many opportunities to serve in a way that could make a huge impact if you're a little kid. But we've found one! We know you receive a zillion requests, but want to let you know of one that literally saves lives.
We are getting ready to have our First Annual "Trike 'N Bike" on Saturday morning, July 31st in the parking lot of Anderson Mill Baptist Church here in Austin. The money raised will go to help Breath of Life Maternity Ministries continue to help our pregnant and homeless moms that need us so desperately.
We are setting up three different options, for ages 0 - 6th graders. We will have a trike "course," a bigger kid bike course (helmets required), and a perimeter for parents, strollers and older kids who want to help. We've been dreaming about this event for a few years now and are SO excited it is going to happen!
There will be music, prizes (Schlitterbahn tickets) for the most raised and the most friends invited, and a chance for the youngsters you so faithfully serve to put their hearts to work for Jesus. We need your help promoting this and getting the kids to come. Because there is an area in which adults and older kids can participate, we would greatly appreciate it if you could forward this email not only to your children's leaders at your church, but to any adult group leaders within your congregation to let them know, as well. Could you ask to have this this information in your bulletin for the next couple of Sundays or even announce this event for us? It's a chance for our corporate body of Christ here in the Austin area serve together for life.

Urgent Needs:
*We have a young homeless lady who cannot afford to get her own place because she doesn't have a job. Most places are not excited about hiring someone who is obviously pregnant. Do you know someone who might be hiring that wouldn't mind?
*Looking for a tax write off for that car sitting in your driveway? We have young moms with no transportation. We have one who has saved up $1k so far to purchase one. But please, make sure it's a car you'd want your own daughter to drive that is in good running condition. These moms have no extra cash to pour into repairs.
*We are in search of a double or full sized bed for another new mom.

We're excited about this chance for all of us to show these precious, frightened women that there ARE people who care about them and want to help. And even more excited for a chance for the little ones to learn that they can help in a big way.
