Her strong faith has carried her through the past few years of treatment and numerous hospital visits as she  battled the illness along with many other physical challenges. The toll on her body has been tremendous.  So when the call came last week that she needed me to meet her at her house, I felt fear. I wasn't sure why. I guess I was just afraid she was needing to talk to me in person to give me the bad news rather than over the phone after all our years together.  She walked out to the driveway to meet me and immediately embraced me with her usual bear hug style.  She proudly introduced me to her fiance and then asked me to come inside. I braced  myself for the information.  Her first question:  "Did Miss Glenda tell you?"  That continued by telling me that the last hospital stay hadn't seemed encouraging.  It had to be something huge. "No.......she hasn't told me anything. WHAT???!!"

Her statement that followed has yet to completely sink into my heart and brain.  She contined with explaining how the last hospital stay had included a new battery of tests to check on her various conditions.  "They can't find the HIV, Miss Jeannine. They can't find it at all.  The doctors don't get it, but it's gone."  Then a huge smile broke out across her joy-filled face as the tears started flowing on mine.  Now you tell me, how big a God do we serve??  We will NEVER stop thanking Him for His healing hand in the life of His precious daughter that we have the honor of loving.  To God be every moment of the glory.

To say that things around here are "boring" would be a mistake.  In the last week we've helped a young homeless woman find one or two cooking pans.  It's sometimes just the basics we are able to give.  But they mean a world to those we serve.  Another incident involved one of our current clients being badly beaten by her fiance.  She called to cry after she worked with police.  She just needed to know SOMEone cared.  Another client was robbed at gunpoint and horribly shaken up after it.  Who wouldn't be?  But God showed up in each and every moment.  He didn't leave them alone.  And we are here to remind them that He does love them and He does care.  We become His arms and shoulders to help bear the burden.  And it is an honor to do so.  THANK you for continuing with your financial help so that we can be here.  He is using you to change lives.  Presently we are only taking in about half of what we need monthly to continue our work.  Please consider if you might be able to support this life-changing ministry.

What a great time we had last Saturday as graduates of the program, current clients, volunteers, supporters and staff came together for our 10th birthday party!  Ten years?? Is that possible? A very, very special thank you to Courtney Cortez who orchestrated the food and drinks and to Sonnet Medrano for making fantastic sweets to enjoy.  THANK YOU LADIES!

A special, heartfelt thank you to little Miss Sophia Cortez, who vigorously helped her mom Courtney and our staffer, Glenda, as they spent endless hours organizing our storage space to be ready for more women to benefit from it.  All 3 of you are so amazing at what you do....and you do it tirelessly without complaint.  What a huge blessing you are to this ministry.

Breath Of Life Maternity Ministries
She's been with our ministry in one capacity or another for over 7 yearsOur journey began when she came to us homeless and pregnant.  She walked through the "Sarah's House" program and was loved on and told how valuable she is to our Lord.  We saw her baptized.  We watched her struggle as she graduated from the housing program and went back to life on her own.  Then came the horrible news. We knew the situation was serious and life-threatening.   The years of poor choices that occured before her encounter with the Lord had caught up with her physically.  Through drugs, baseless relationships and what not, she was given the diagnosis of HIV.  Though it doesn't carry the death sentence it once did, it was still a dangerous, life-threatening situation. We began praying for her.  And we KEPT praying.
