Babies and more babies!! (and a video!)

This Special Day

Her need is great, but her thankfulness and appreciation even greater.  As we sat in her little bedroom with the spring breeze filling the room, we struggled past the language barrier and simply enjoyed being together.  This little mother from Mexico first arrived in my heart about two months ago.  Since that time, BOL has helped her find a safe place in a shelter until a more permanent source of help and housing could be located.  I found myself wishing and longing for the day, once again, when I could visit her at our own Sarah's House Maternity Home.  That day is coming.  God's made it clear and His word never returns void.  In the meantime, we continue to help the plethora of young mothers who, being pregnant and homeless, come to us in dire straits.  They are scared.  They are alone. And they have lost hope.  And in that moment, we are able to show them, or remind them as the case may be, that He IS hope.  He has a plan.  They are not alone.  They are deeply loved.  And we move forward with them as they begin again and prepare for the tiny one soon to arrive in their lives.  And my little friend from Mexico?  Forget showing me the sonograms or the baby clothes she's been able for her daughter that is due today.  She wanted to first show me her amazingly  high scores that she scored in passing her GED. The defeated dark brown eyes that once looked at me with despair and fear are now filled with a renewed enthusiasm, a thankfulness and .....hope.

Update!! Her little one arrived healthy and beautiful last Friday, March 5th. See the video of our new little Emily. Thank you Lord for your amazing gift of life. We are so, so blessed.

Congratulations Erin and Travis!

A huge BOL welcome to new little Sawyer who made his entrance on Sunday, March 7, 2010. He weighed in at 7 pounds, 6 ounces, and was born at 5:30 p.m.  We're blessed by your arrival.  Congratulations to the new parents as well!

It's always a great time to jump in and watch God move through you!
