:: THIS SPECIAL DAY ::
Know what today is? Twenty three years ago today I welcomed a tiny little pink bundle into my heart. Although I had already chosen a plan of adoption for her, in that first moment of holding her, I knew I was forever and indescribably changed. How could a heart hold this much love? As my mother walked into the room to see her new granddaughter for the first time, I remember saying to her, "I had no idea you loved me with a love like this." It was a new experience. And it was because of that depth of love that I was able to walk through the door of adoption, to give her everything I possibly could so that her life would be the very best it could be. God honored my desires and love for her by providing two of the most amazing parents, Dave and Dori, that I have ever known. I continually thank Him when I wander in my thoughts to how loving and fantastic they are both has individuals, and parents. He absolutely could not have given me anyone more amazing for Sarah. I am forever eternally grateful. So, to you my sweet sweet Sarah, happy 23rd birthday sweet pea. You are one of the most phenomenal gifts that the Lord has ever given to me. And to you, Dave and Dori, may God continue to build our love for each other as you continue to love this child who God gave you through me. I am honestly humbled to be a part of the quilt of her life story as God continues to weave it.
:: ONE BIG GROUP HUG ::
That's what I wanted to do this week, a huge group hug of all the women in the room. It was the first meeting of our BOL Women's Bible Study, held this past Sunday night. The group, hosted and taught by Jane Chandler of Hill Country Bible, Pflugerville, included both currently pregnant clients and graduates of our program from many years gone by. It was a fantastic mix of women whom we love so much. Watching them connect and share their hearts was probably the most amazing moment of the week for me. Unless of course, you count the part where I got to play with their kids and little ones as they delved into supper and a study that will remind each one of them how much they are His daughters. That's our goal here at BOL, to teach and lead those brought to us into a deeper walk with God. And if we get the chance to love on their tiny ones in the process, we'll consider it an added blessing! To God be the glory!
