As The Maternity Ministry Turns ...

We thought this week we'd give you a peek inside of our ministry. Many have asked, "So what do you do with Sarah's House currently on hold??"
Although the temptation to say "Bon bons and Law & Order reruns" is strong, I must concur that if you really saw the day to day activity (or marathon) of what we're up to might be more than you can guess.
Here's a picture of the just the last week alone:
*take young woman to emergency room for severe infection and bleeding
*meet with a young woman who is currently sleeping in a closet to help her find housing
*meet with one of our young women whose friend killed herself yesterday
*write adoption policy so that the license application can be turned in
*meet with a church mission board member in order to promote knowledge of our ministry within their congregation
*attend concert team rehearsal to begin practice for our educational concert ministry coming up this spring
*work on updated publications for the community
*create a "Nurses' Packet" for the area schools to let them know we're here to help
*put a young woman on the director's living room couch in order to help her keep the baby and not abort (we're praying to build out that back porch into a room to house emergency placements while we find them a place)
*take a young woman to the medicaid office to help her get a dr for the first time in her 3rd month of pregnancy
*take a woman to the dr for her first exam, then hold her as she reacted horribly due to the years of sexual abuse that it reminded her of
*pray over a woman who is hounded by demons
*help a young woman find a school that suits her goals
*work with the county sheriff regarding one of our gals who is so desperately wanting to get her life back on track
*find a way to offer a young woman gas money to get home
*get finances to help a young woman have gas money to get to work and back as she carries her baby to term
*find finances to feed a homeless pregnant mom
*meet with a suicidal pregnant woman
See? This is even busier than Law and Order. And no commercials....
I PROMISE that all we've been doing is not all listed. We are currently working with 5 pregnant women, plus the graduates that we will always be here to help. We mean it when we say we'll always be here to support them and love them.
You're also probably wondering how in the world we do all of this. We're $2400 short at this point for the rest of this month. It takes about $7k a month to run this ministry, and that, I PROMISE, is on a shoestring. It was a wonderful holiday season and now we're into tax season. We love that season here at BOL because it's really good for our prayer lives....
You'll find a link to help give here in this article. But you don't need a link to pray. And we need your covering. Bring it on!!
