BOL update

Each time I do an update I love to be able to relay to you something we've walked through or been blessed by in this ministry. I love the powerful, quiet moments that happen very unexpectedly and yet make up the quilt of blessings that God pours over us.
I sat in a restaurant last week with a hurting mother of a child at a local high school whose senior daughter is pregnant. Their church leaders had asked to meet with me in regards to the situation an dhow to best handle it. I went with my scriptures and diatribe ready to "tell this church" how they should respond to this family in crisis. What I met instead was the very presence of God pouring through the tears and heart of a pastor who honestly wanted to know how to help, how to walk their youth group through it and how to address the criticisms that would arise.
Fortunately, I personally attend a church who wraps their arms around those who find themselves in this very same situation. I have been blessed by that time and time again. And here was a church leader saying, "Show us how to handle this and use it as a teachable time for all of our congregation." It was absolutely amazing. As I got back into my car, I saw the list of scriptures I had compiled ready to use them at any necessary moment I thought would for sure arise. Instead, God met us at that restaurant, His Spirit showed up to comfort and lead and the three of us spent time in prayer asking for wisdom, His guidance and a renewed determination to walk this family through their difficult situation. What an amazing, loving God we serve.

It's almost here!
Ok...We are VERY excited about our golf tournament coming up April 30 at the beautiful, exclusive River Place Country Club in Austin. Ok, so lots of people have golf tournaments. How about one that literally helps save lives?? What a fantastic way to put your faith to feet. But don't just blow past this paragraph and say "I don't golf." We need your help to make this successful! If you can help us get golfers and teams of four to participate, you can help save lives! If you can help us locate and ask businesses to sponsor a hole you can help save lives! Each of us has a different sphere of influence and circles in which there are people who would be excited to come alongside of us and help us. But time is running out. We need your help NOW. *We are blessed to be able to have one of our local Curves Women's Gyms sponsoring a weeklong baby shower of blessings for the young women with whom we work. How great is that? We are both grateful and encouraged by their willingness to partner with BOL.
*For those of you who missed it......we had a great time at our 9th BOL Birthday Party. To find yourself surrounded by women who have jumped into a relationship with Jesus Christ, their tiny little ones running around and volunteers who just want to support these precious women was a massive blessing to the entire staff. We celebrate the miracles God has done in the past 9 years and look forward to the fulfillment of His promise over this ministry.
What a great God we serve!!!!
