BOL update 9/30/08

Happy October!
Can you tell that fall is my absolute favorite? I love the season of change, not only in the calendar year, but in the growth of our graduates as they process through life and continue to grow.
One such graduate is Misty. What a success story. She has worked as the Community Resource Coordinator at Hyde Park Baptist and did a tremendous job in that position. She is married now (which occurred in my living room!) and has a new baby since her stay with us at Sarah's House.
However, her husband and son are facing critical illnesses that could be life threatening. Her mother in law has already succumbed to the disease just recently. It is painful to watch her walk though the pain, worry and grief and all we can offer is a hand to hold and an ear to listen. But I also reminded her that we have supporters who will lift them up in prayer and stand in the gap in this time of battle for her. She was so encouraged by that.
In the meantime, they've moved their family closer to the mother in law while she fights the good fight. In doing so, they are needing many things to help them provide a home for their family. I've included the list she sent me at the bottom. If you can help, please drop your items off at our office on the big front porch. The address is 13170 Pond Springs Road and there's a large Breath of Life sign in the window. Our porch has two rocking chairs on it, so that we can rock in all of our free time....;-)
And please pray for Misty, husband Chris, baby Chris, and Chris's mother. We want to see God's miraculous healing power.
In the meantime, our concert team is preparing for a presentation Oct. 17. We are currently preparing to audition for a male and female vocalist to join our team. You must be able to harmonize and practice one evening a week for two hours. If you're interested, call our office at 219-8322.
Pray for our staff as we attend some critical planning meetings this week. It is an amazing time for us. It is so amazing to watch God work. He obviously loves this ministry even more so than we do.....(duh).
