BOL Update: Praises and Prayer Requests

Monday, August 4th 2008 @ 3:33 PM    post viewed 224 times

I have to tell you about this week! First of all, praise the Lord that Sarah has been given a positive report that her lymph nodes are cancer free!! Please read the post below, "Praying For Sarah" for full details on God's amazing goodness.

Here’s more of how God’s working:
  We have been walking alongside of a community woman who is the victim of rape.  She became pregnant as a result of this attack and is having to deal with both the rape and now the additional heartache of a child conceived by a violent offender.

She was brought to us stating she would consider nothing but abortion.  Then God showed up. She decided to place the child for adoption. We’ve been blessed to help, hug and accompany her through this rough journey.  This week she was finally able to see a doctor for her pregnancy.

The doctor immediately sent her to the hospital where Ive been sitting with her for the last two days.  Today she received the news that she would be here at least another week in their efforts to control her toxemia, high blood pressure and to try and prevent this tiny little one from coming too early.

I’m telling you because she desperately needs your prayers. And of course she gave me permission to ask for them. Being available to stay with her (as she has no parents) requires me, the ministry’s main administrator, to be out of the office.  We simply don’t have the funds yet to have the two hats on two different people.  And obviously, my heart, which always falls in love with these amazing women’s hearts, chooses to be by her side while she struggles through this difficult period in her life. It's what we do.

Yet, even within the middle of my time with her, another call came in from another birthmother in the community wanting someone to help her through her adoption with counseling.  And we had to postpone counseling for a 3rd birthmother in order to be at the hospital.  You can see there is a tremendous need and amount of growth in this area of our ministry.

As the ministry grows, the needs grow. We need $10k monthly to run smoothly.  We’ve been functioning on $5k.  And yet God continually sends these powerful appointments that demand constant prayer and time as we walk through them.

The BOL staff is boldly praying AND BELIEVING GOD FOR $10k in the next two weeks so that we can concentrate on the important God moments, rather than whether we have the office rent or not.  It’s exciting to hear God’s reassurance that He’s the One steering the boat and that His provision is more amazing than we can ever imagine.

So I bring it to you, our faithful donors.  Maybe you’re one of the ones who can provide a part of the means by which we can focus on the heart of these precious, incredibly courageous mothers so that their little ones can be born healthy and ready for the plan God has for their lives.

Please consider a monthly donation of any amount.  Every gift matters.  Or give a significant gift that can allow us to continue holding the hands and hearts of women who God has specifically sent our direction to allow us to put faith to our beliefs and walk them out in real time.

Watch our website  for continued updates on prayer needs for this woman and others who bravely walk through unplanned pregnancies and choose life for their tiny ones.  We’re the ones to whom He’s given resources to partner with them as the body of Christ to support them and show them that God’s people believe that life is indeed precious.

Happy August
from Breath of Life

It's a tad warmer than I'd like, but I guess that's what makes the lemonade taste so good.

So much in the works here at BOL.
Find out if there's a way you could help!

~~~~~~
*Our leadership is in prayer & discussion over several
property possibilities.  Please pray as we seek the Lord's direction in this exciting area of development.
*Pray for Victoria Buehler, one of our favorite "Sarah's Song" concert team members as she recovers from her second brain tumor surgery.  The surgery was long and intensive, but she is doing well and recovering at
Dell Children's Hospital here in Austin as she is just 15.
*Pray also for Jeannine's daughter, Sarah, who has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer.  Her thyroid removal surgery went well.  However, the post op report stated that the cancer has metasticized and spread to the lymph node by her thyroid.  Further testing will let them know if the cancer has spread to other lymph nodes. Please pray for complete healing.  She undergoes radiation in the near future.
*ROCK-A-THON '08!!!!!!
We are SO excited about this upcoming event!
The Jr/Sr Highers from several area youth groups are gathering together for a 24 hour rocking chair marathon to raise funds for BOL. A special thanks to New Hope Community Church for offering to host this fun event.
Make sure you sponsor a "Rocker" when they ask!
Or better yet, go to our website and designate a gift via
Paypal.
*Two generous and gracious donors have sponsored our special guests for the NOVEMBER 14TH BENEFIT BANQUET! THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!
You do NOT want to miss this incredible evening.
*Watch your mailbox for our latest newsletter.
So much info to share.
*This week we:
-traveled 8 hours to take a client to a safe, Christ-based maternity home to help her with a fresh start
-met with a team of Christian businessmen who want to help BOL establish a firm foundation as we grow
-responded to a request for help from India for maternity ministry
-counseled with a young 15 year old who has just recently placed for adoption and wanted someone to walk through the grief with her
-counseled with a birthfather who grieves the loss and celebrates the joy of his child
-worked on our new concert ministry format
-met and counseled with an abortion minded woman who wanted to abort at 30 weeks pregnant
-answered the calls of 8 to 10 young women who were in desperate need of housing and referred them to safe, nurturing places where they would be loved on and would experience the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. (To date in 2008, we've helped find housing for over 60 sixty women in dire need of somewhere safe to go.)
-Hosted an event for our birthmom support group who laughed, cried and prayed for each other as they shared their latest pictures of their children that they placed for adoption.
*The concert team is gearing up for several upcoming concerts, both locally and nationally.  We've been joined by a great group of dancers/drama folk who undoubtedly add a tremendous impact to the powerful experience.  Watch our website for a concert date near you.
*Have you signed up on the website to receive urgent and more frequent emails from our ministry? Don't wait another minute!
www.BreathOfLifeSite.org
*We're growing......again!
Our Event Team has tripled in size and we are simply delighted.  If you'd like to join this working, busy and wonderful group who are investing both heart and soul into this vital, life changing ministry.
Check the website's calendar for our next meeting which is coming up soon.
*BOL is currently accepting applications for our Board of Directors.  If you are interested in serving in a rewarding, fulfilling ministry based on the grace of Jesus Christ, contact our office at 512-219-8322.
We have quite a few running projects here at the office that we would really appreciate someone being able to help us with, such as:
*Brochures that need to be mailed out nationally for the upcoming Christian Maternity Home retreat this fall ASAP
*Youth groups needing to be contacted with the Rockathon info and follow up ASAP
*Calling state by state to locate maternity homes and gather the info for our website (one day a week or something like that)
*A national pregnancy resource mailing that needs to be completed and sent out
Any one of these tasks are relatively easy and we can train you.
Please consider mailing a gift of support so we can continue to be here for these precious mothers and their tiny ones.
Every gift matters.
Have a fantastic weekend and remember us in your prayers.
