What an amazing way God moves when we just make ourselves available. So many of you covered our recent trip to Ukraine and we felt those prayers. Words simply cannot express how much our team appreciated your gifts and support to get us to these precious friends in Christ to be able to encourage and train them.
I'm including Travis' note about the trip. Watching him take it all in, assimilate how blessed we truly are with living in the states and seeing him embrace the moment was so incredibly rewarding. Here's what he wrote:Dear Grandma,First i wanted to thank you for all your help getting me to Ukraine. It was quite amazing to see how different it was and experience helping people and sharing my testimony. It really shows you how grateful we should be to have running water and food to eat. Also cutting wood for them and giving them the gift of a good meal really felt great. Sharing my testimony was really big because I really got threw to them in letting them know that adoption is important. You had to let them know adoption is about love and caring for your child not giving them away. Just letting them know you're making the right choice and really giving your baby a better life. I'm glad i had the opportunity to do this. Once again thank you for helping me get there and do what i needed to dolove Travis He did a fantastic job with his testimony. He'll be sharing it again soon as we perform a benefit concert in So. California June 8th.Su and Sonnet were amazingly patient in teaching their craft classes. Needless to say, I stay far, far away from learning how to crochet. I don't think they have enough meds to make me patient enough for that class....;-) But the women looooved it and attended two straight days (morning AND afternoon) in a row to take in all they could from the two of them. I don't remember ever being as busy as I was this trip. I taught almost every day, performed a concert at a local church, sang and spoke in a village Sunday morning and led worship and teaching at the cpc retreat for directors/volunteers from around the country. I think the most exciting part for me was the request from them to consider returning to speak at a gathering of the leaders and mayors of the various regions to present adoption. I have been praying for four years for an opportunity to present adoption to the parliament. I see God moving mountains to make it happen! Ukraine wants to join NATO and cannot do so while the country still has orphanges (a fact I didn't know about NATO). Thus, they are moving to a foster care system and considering private adoption being legal for the first time ever. Go God!!They had many questions for Travis regarding being adopted and he handled each of them, friendly or not, with grace. It was so interesting for them to have both a birthmother (myself) and an adopted child to question. We just let them ask whatever they wanted. It was a God moment to be sure.We all had a chance to deliver groceries (that you helped buy!) to the poorest of the mission's clients. Each family and single mother allowed our team to pray over them and welcomed it. It was SO moving. One little boy has been struggling with yet undiagnosed problems. Each time someone in the past had started praying in the room, he had clamped his hands over his ears and started protesting loudly. We decided we were going to kick satan out of this behavior and little boy's mind and began praying as such while laying hands on him. In the middle of our prayers, he removed his hands from his ears and sat there patiently allowing us to cover Him in prayer. God so shows up when we declare His Kingdom with authority over others. What a huge blessing to be a part of this.We also got the chance to pray over each director/volunteer that came to the retreat, as well as the Mission to Ukraine staff during morning devotions at their offices. Getting a chance to pray with my own son over others was one of the most moving memories I have from the trip. God is so sweet in His blessings and "thank you's." And I thank each of you from the bottom of our hearts at allowing us, once again, the privilege and challenge of serving His precious, precious servants in Ukraine. What a humbling, amazing experience. In Deepest Appreciation,Jeannine FlooresP.S. Check out the website for more pictures of our trip. I've attached the most poignant one of the mother with the child we prayed over. You can see God at work just by looking at the picture.
Dear Faithful Friends in Christ,
You simply cannot believe how wonderfully and powerfully God has been using us here in Zhitomyr, Ukraine. We have never been so busy and worked so hard as we have on this trip to their mission. We have been in many villages, churches and on the streets praying for people. God is so mightily at work.
We look forward to sharing the stories of God's incredible love and provision upon our return. Please pray for the safety of our return. We also would like to ask prayers for one of our interpretor's daughters, little Anya, who is running a fever and has swollen lymph nodes. The dr.'s here cannot find out what's wrong. We are proclaiming full healing over her.
We have had the opportunity to speak with maternity ministers from literally around the entire country. Please pray that God would continue to stir up the hearts of the Ukranians and their leaders for a revival and new heart for the unborn here in Ukraine.
More upon our safe return!
