“No one ever really believed in me before I came to Sarah’s House. They expected the worst. So I gave them just that. There wasn’t any hope. Not until this staff loved me and showed me that God really CAN make all things new. I am so much more blessed than I can ever really tell you. THANK you for believing in girls like me. Without you, we’d be left with no hope and no one to care.” ~Beth

BEFORE: We met Beth and did her interview at a drug rehab center. She was angry. Her answers were short and curt and she just wanted to go back to her room and lie down. She was obviously very pregnant and was due soon. Her baby’s father was in prison, she had nowhere to go upon leaving the rehab I don’t think she honestly believed me when I told her about the hope that we could offer. I could see it on her face, the unspoken “Yeah, whatever.” But as the interview continued, I could see her begin to wonder if this really was as good as it sounded, that the tools to help herself and her little unborn Jenna could really be reached. Her counselor called me the next day and informed me that “Beth won’t make it. She’ll be back on drugs as soon as she’s out of here.” But I knew what God’s heart was saying to me. And I knew that Beth belonged in “Sarah’s House.”

AFTER: To this day, Beth is still beautifully and confidently clean from drugs and alcohol. She walked through the maternity home program, seriously taking in the information, the instruction and all the unconditional love she could soak up. She accepted Christ and was baptized into His amazing grace. Her darling, chubby-cheeked little Jenna arrived, happy and healthy. Beth began a brand new life. She began a solid career which allows her to have Jenna with her at the worksite and is able to walk to work across the street from the aftercare home in which she and Jenna now live. Her sweet demeanor and sincere heart for the Lord make her a blessing and a joy to love.

“After that first phone call, and the counseling and hugs and prayers that came later, we were able to get past our fear and uncertainty simply because God sent these people to love our family when we needed it the most.” ~Parent of a Sarah’s House Graduate

I was a volunteer at Sarah's House when Beth was there and had her beautiful baby. I was eyewitness to a miracle in the life of this precious young woman. I got very attached to Beth and Jenna and am blessed to see her occasionally . Her Mom lives only about 20 minutes from me. Beth gave me such a passion for my involvement in Breath Of Life Ministry. This ministry is so needed and has given me a way to give back at a time in life when I have much free time. God is so good and I receive so much more than I can ever give to this minsitry. My prayers are that God will bring to pass soon the vision He gave Jeannine and we will  be able to help, touch, heal and change many more lives.
